Time For Youth To take Part In Politics

Youth comprises maximum population in India. Every sector comprises of young workforce be it IT, telecom, automobile, finance etc. The only field where one cant find youngsters is politics. Its really rare to see any youngster in politics. Does the youth think about their country? Aren’t they interested in politics and development of their country?
The word politician to many in general means old people, criminal, liars and worn out people. We never think of any young man or woman in politics. Most of us think that politics is dirty and not a career and place for the educated people. Due to this wrong perception, politics is definitely not a career options chosen by the youngsters. Why is it so? Are we satisfied with the way the politicians are running the country. Have we taken for granted that the politics of our country will never change? Is the only aim of youngsters to settle down in life with a well paid job and a happy married life? Well, many of us portray youth as `cool and happening' but we fail to realise the potential and power of the young blood has in reforming our old politics.
The reason why youngsters don’t enter or have not entered politics is because of the wrong picture showed to them. Politics has never been seen as a career. Youngsters have not been told what power they have in them and how they can bring change. To change the system, you have to be in the system. One cant run away from its duties and blame the politicians. How many of us go to vote and . Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone! We don’t even know our constitution. Just by sitting down and pointing fingers at others wont solve the problem. Its our country, our responsibility and our future that we need to take care of. Nothing is free in this word.
Youth has to come forward and accept its responsibilities and use its strength in the correct direction. The time has come for the youth to take active part in politics.
