I Vote Nobody!!!!!

I Vote Nobody!!!!!!!!!

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding
election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes guys such a option is available, but wonder why we were never informed of this...or we never tried to know about our rights. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say
"I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 150 votes,
and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 150, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and so they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine & hope so good candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system and even the way we think that what difference will our vote do... its surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public as to educate the public about what their rights are ....

Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India ... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote
(vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

Use your voting right for a better
INDIA

Thats what this article explains u brother that if u don't like any of the candidates then apply this section and don't let your vote get wasted by either not voting or voting someone whom u dont want to. Voting is our right and we have to fulfill our duties and then only can we expect these politicians to change.

Nazish.. very few ppl might be knowing bout ths system but I wanna say few thngs..

Everyone has the right to express anger but calls to boycot elections are not just absurd but also counterproductive. If we do not vote, no tangible change will take place. U ppl knw hw corrupt our politicians are.. by leaving d voting opportunity thy gt a chane to manupulate the result by asking someone to vote them wd Ur name.. All politiians are not corrupt.. Everytime election brings some new minority parties wd it.. but thy never win.. U knw y cozz thy r nt corript n thy donno d tactics.. We ppl never give them chance..

Gain as much knowledge bout d candidate who is standing in d elections.. n vote whosoever U feel is d genuine one..
Take the charge of thngs around dn't run away frm Ur duties.. If thy can't b a better Politiciann at least we hv to be a better Civilian.. Thy r forgetting there duties.. we shudn't..

Nazish .. agreed with what all U were saying..but.. I feel we need to change ourself b4 asking for some big change.. C we need to jump into politics if we really want to mk it clean n truely speaking I don't hv tht muh guts to do tht cozzz at the end of the day its a dirty game. And there I had a feeling that I can do alot more being a civilian.
If this 49-0 is a sign of revolt than I must suggest U few more ideas to chanelize ur revolt.
Write to newspaper, talk in radio shows, spread pamphlets with Ur ideas and make it signed by sm ppl wh agree over Ur views.. these all are cheapest and affective way to put forward Ur thought.
Lemme tell U d recent board formed to censorize the news telecast.. Is the result of Letters sent to Hindustan Times and initiative of one of its editor...

When a president or prime minister was incompetent or corrupted, many people pinpointed the finger at him and wished that God destroyed him.
But the fault partly was due to the voters. Without voters voting him into office, country would not suffer the ill effect of that guy.
So "vote nobody" is sometimes a good policy.

yes! i knew this was there, but i dont think people were really aware of this.
and it's the people's fault that they vote for the leaders. but then again, those who dont know that they have such a right to exercise, they have no choice but to either vote or simply dont even go to the polling booth!...but i think the better option would be to exercise this right!!!!

p.s. nice piece of info shared with every1! :)
i think i'll steal ur post and post it in my blog to spread the words! (but, of course i will need to reference it to ur blog since i dont wanna be caught in a controversy of plagiarism :) )
